Scents & Scentsability Candles are hand-crafted with high-quality and eco-friendly coconut wax, lead free cotton wicks, and hand selected fragrance oils for a truly unique scent.


Why do you use coconut wax?

When I first started this company, I used soy wax like everyone else. After doing some research, I found that there is a better wax out there that is just as eco-friendly as soy, but is of much higher quality. Although soy burns slower than paraffin, it has trouble with scent throw and can also look unsightly with it's frosting and uneven tops after burning.

Coconut wax is obtained via a natural process and is vegan. It burns slowly and cleanly, and throws scent really well. It is a lot more expensive than soy, which is why most candle companies don't use it, but to me, it is definitely worth the switch! I can never go back to soy after being spoiled with the benefits of burning candles made of coconut wax.

What do your candles smell like?

Each candle has a description of its scent profile (and possibly a whimsical scent like "magic" or "luck" that does not actually give off fragrance). The fragrance oils that I use are a combination of synthetic oils made specifically for candles, and essential oils. These synthetic oils allow me to provide a more non-traditional fragrance (parchment, stone, cappuccino) to best represent that fictional world or character.  

When I create my candles, I sometimes use several different fragrances in order to build a truly unique and complex scent profile. Because of this, individual scents may be stronger than others, but I include each fragrance on the label in case of allergies or intolerance's customer may have.  

How long will my candle last?

4 oz jars will last at least 20 hours and 9 oz jars will last at least 50 hours! Please see our Candle Tips and Safety page for how to get the most out of your candle.

How often do you come up with new scents?

I have 14 permanent candles that are available all year. Each month, I create a new candle with brand new scents, along with bringing back a retired candle that is voted on during the previous month. Each new candle and the retired candle that wins the voting process, will be available at the beginning of each month and will be available until sold out.

How do I vote to bring a retired candle back?

At the beginning of each month, I host a voting in the shop's Instagram stories (@scentsandscentsabilitystudio) where you can vote on which candles you would like to be brought back. I create a voting bracket (just like in Basketball) where candles are paired up against one another. The first of each month has the most voting options. After the results of those votes are done, I will take the winners and start it again the following day. I create a lot of candles, so this process can take 5-7 days, but it is fun to participate!

The candles that are included are the ones on our Bring It Back page. It does not include seasonal candles because those will be available again during their corresponding season. 

Do you have any coupons?

Yes! I have 3 reps every month that have their own special code to help you save 10% on your purchase. Once you are finished adding items to your cart, you can enter in one of the current rep codes and it will be applied to the order.

These codes cannot stack and they cannot be used on sale items, but they are available every month. Follow the shop on Instagram @scentsandscentsabilitycandles to find out who are the current reps and to save money!

How do I safely burn my candle?

Candles are fun but can be very dangerous if not handled properly. Please see the Candle Tips & Safety page to learn how best to handle your candle and to get the most burn time!


Domestic Shipping

Candles will be shipped via USPS. Shipping cost is calculated by weight at check out. Current processing time before shipping is 3-5 business days. You will receive a tracking notification once your item has been shipped. Domestic orders over 13 oz ship 2-3 Day Priority Mail. Orders under 13 oz ship First Class Mail and will take slightly longer.

International Shipping

I do ship internationally! International orders can take 2-3 weeks to arrive from the shipment date, and sometimes longer. International orders may have additional customs fees and/or tariffs depending on your country. You are responsible for paying these costs. I know that international shipping can be very expensive. It sucks and I'm sorry. 


Where can I buy your candles?

I do currently sell candles at Jan's Paperbacks in Beaverton Oregon! 

You can also purchase our candles through this website. Due to Etsy's increased fees, I will be transitioning everything to this website over the next few months.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes! Just email me right away with your name and order number. After the order has been processed and a shipping label created, I can no longer cancel the order. Processing time is 3-5 days, but I may have it shipped sooner than that. 

Can I use more than one coupon?

Unfortunately, I can only accept one coupon code per purchase at this time.


I work really hard to create candles with scent profiles that are delicious and fragrant! I know that scent is subjective and while I want customers to be happy with their order, I cannot offer refunds or exchanges based on scent preference.

I package our orders with care but accidents can happen--if you receive a a product that is broken, please reach out to me with your order number, a photo of the damage, and a list of what needs to be replaced, and I will replace or refund your candle.

If you received a candle you did not order or one is missing from your order, I apologize! Please email me with your order number and the item you are missing or need exchanged. You may keep any product I may have shipped to you by accident!
